Nedessy – “Dear America” (Video)

Maryland based musician Nedessy L’Amour uses her musical gifts to curate an open letter song to America titled “Dear America.” Centered around the recent Black Lives Matter revolution going on in America, Nedessy uses her platform as a black woman to shed light on this issue affecting her people.

The song is short but powerful as Nedessy mixes a soft melodic hook and quick bars to deliver the message that black people need to get the reparations that they deserve. Accompanying the song is a peculiar music video that gives another perspective to the song.

She is starting with a news clip of Donald trump with visual effects illustrating him as the devil sends a clear message about how America is viewing black struggle currently. Throughout the video, Nedessy is seen in various scenes reciting her lyrics and protesting with Washington D.C. natives.

“Black parents should not have to fear for their, and their children’s lives anymore just because of the skin complexion they’re born with,” she said. “We must come together snd use our platforms to create the change that is needed worldwide.”
